Use these rules to clarify and streamline the Krav Maga counterattack decision making process.

Often, students become confused by the myriad of counters that are available to them as a defense is being made, or worse, they become flustered by an attack and are unable to identify any reasonable counter.

As a basic drill, I ask my students to first begin to understand that the defense being deployed often dictates what counters are most effective and reasonable – given the angle, distance, and weight in the feet that result from the defense. And, once this is established, I ask the students to keep in mind a few simple rules for delivering basic combatives (in this case, punches). In the video below, I highlight these simple rules.
