Krav Maga’s stick trick illustrates why telegraphic movement is a critical mistake.
Last week I wrote about the critical nature of Krav Maga’s movement principle – Hands, Body, Feet. The issues surrounding movement, in this case, boil down to efficient movement and avoidance of telegraphing motions.
This week, I’ve done a quick video about why telegraphing motion is such an issue, what roll the eyes play in detecting motion, and illustrated (through the stick trick) these points on video.
The stick trick is a valuable visual for students who fail to understand why efficient, non-telegraphed movement is essential in self-defense.
Check out the video and use the illustration to motivate your students.
