As you practice bar arm choke defense, you might also consider the similarities between the bar arm and an attack made with a stick at the same vulnerable area of the neck.
While there are several versions of this defense, I’m illustrating what I consider to be the easiest defense to teach and ask students to complete. Keep in mind, the danger of the bar arm, especially when considering the stick as a substitute for the arm, is the sudden and forceful jolt or popping of the trachea (windpipe).
